If you want a realty company with zero people skills and worthless customer service response, McElwain is the company for you! Want to wait exactly 1 year for the company to ignore THREE responses for bushes to be trimmed back as they grow wild and feral in your front yard? McElwain is there to be ineffectual in every sense. Vague responses abound with this company! Let’s not forget that the company does not have an after-hours emergency number, so if your toilet clogged up and flowing out all over your home with raw sewage, alive and dead insects- don’t count on McElwain to help in a pinch! “Leave a message and they check the voice mail.” When sewage is pouring out onto your carpet and you need a plumber immediately, that is of no help, so you’re on your own. What fun! The staff is naturally not interested or concerned with anything regarding this- just “We’ll send a plumber out later today to make the repairs.”
Let’s not forget the handling of this company taking over the house, not bothering to reach out or contact the resident, forcing the resident to find the company and reach someone simply to pay rent.
And despite being under no contract when this tenant moved out, McElwain still mysterious charges for “yardwork” and “cleaning” and “repair” in the amount of $250 with no specified reasoning. Despite waiting over a year with three responses to requests to have the bushes trimmed back, apparently it’s just fine for this company to charge as they see fit for “yardwork” related issues.
Trust me if you’re looking for a place to live, you can do way better than than McElwain. This company sucks.
Absolutely the worse company to work with. I don’t come here to bash local businesses, but proceed at your own risk. Note the last 2 realities I have worked with have 5 stars.
Very unprofessional, low quality realtor. The owner & her minions bully tenants but are sweet to the owners. They violate Arizona tenant laws by showing up at rentals without 24 hr notice, which is legally required. They overcharge for holes in the wall, & their maintenance & upkeep is sub-par & poor. They hover & are rude & behind the times in their online system for clients. Horrible.
